GCD Short - The World Appears to be Descending Into Violence
It seems as if the world is beginning to come apart at the seams. There are protests and wars and violence everywhere. It could just be due to our western obsession with the news, but it just seems like everywhere I look these days there is violence and destruction. Whereas people used to go to work, now it seems like there are those who are either paid to protest, or perhaps the protests are a convenient cover for their theft and looting which is how they really pay the bills. Like I said in "Confusion as a Tool of Anarchy and Tyranny", it is so hard to determine the truth of a matter these days. As much information as we have available to us, it may actually be getting harder to determine truth.
Take, for example, the riots that have plagued Paris, Marseille and some other French cities as of late. If you look for information online, what you see is that virtually every single legacy media outlet has these riots labelled as the "PSG Riots", referring to a European football club that recently won a major game. The news agencies would have you believe that the destruction and the looting are a result of excited fans celebrating the win, but what does looting have to do with celebrating? And why are the vast majority of the rioters people of colour, originating from foreign countries? How is it that these foreigners are so excited about a French team winning a match? The truth is they aren't; this is simply an excuse to engage in mayhem and destruction. They know that they can get away with it when they do it en mass; the police will try to clear them out but will not pursue justice.
We see the same thing with the so-called anti-ICE riots that are taking place in at least 40 cities across the continental U.S. These riots are supposedly intended to voice opposition to the deportation of tens of thousands, potentially millions of illegal immigrants, depending who you are listening to. The destruction and the looting are so bad that the California National Guard has be commandeered by the U.S. President and sent into Los Angeles to try to quell the mayhem. This is on top of the police forces that have been mobilized and the Marines that have also been deployed. Again, these appear to be mostly people of colour that are seen plundering and destroying the city, but in this case, those who are rioting have the encouragement and blessing of native Californians who never seem to be able to determine what is truly right and correct since their moral compasses seem to have been permanently misaligned.
These are two instances of violence that appears to have no true basis in the reasoning that we are being fed, yet there are protests occurring in the U.K., particularly in Ireland, where the native population is rising up against the mass immigration policies of the U.K. government and the effects that these policies are having on their own communities. Entire towns are suddenly being overrun by "irregular migrants" in numbers that are overwhelming the numbers of the native inhabitants of those towns, and the citizens are sick and tired of the instant increase in personal and property crimes that ensue. The people are beginning to attack the police and the governments who are telling them that their concerns have no merit and that they are being racist in their positions. While I feel for the citizens of these towns, why is it that they must resort to violence to have their voices heard? Is it possible that the government only listens to those who are actively threatening them? That is an absolute failure of government.
The U.S. has just had another mass protest, the "No Kings" protest, which I think was mostly peaceful (no, really, I think it was, and not like the 'mostly peaceful' protests in L.A.). But I did see some mention that during the day the protest was populated by mostly whites and geriatrics while the nighttime version was infiltrated by Antifa, the supposedly anti-fascist organization that employs decidedly fascist tactics. This protest had 1,900 rallies planned across the nation and unfortunately had shots fired at at least one protest location. As I understand it, this protest was in defiance of President Trump, accusing him of acting like a monarch instead of an elected leader, asserting his will and authority on the people of America against their will. The funny thing is that, for the most part, I agree with the things that these protesters are protesting against, and the things that the majority of the American population voted for. I am not a fan of Trump, but he is an example of a strong leader in a world where that has been in poor supply over the last decade or so and people have forgotten what it looks like and that nations need strong leaders.
It is this type of dissociation from reality that leads people to take actions into their own hands and decide that politicians need to be executed for representing the will of the people who voted for them, as seems to be the case with the assassinations and attempted assassinations that took place in Minnesota this past week. I have heard, though I have not confirmed, that these two Democrat politicians voted against party lines in a recent vote; having voted according the will of the majority of the people whom they represent. This is their job and they may have been targeted for doing it by someone who disagrees with their vote. I think we are really seeing the spiralling of humanity down the moral toilet. Have we really degraded this far? Yes, we probably have.
And finally we have to look at the sudden war between Israel and Iran which has involved hundreds if not thousands of sorties by combat aircraft and drones attacking nuclear facilities and oil refineries in both countries and stirring warnings of nuclear retaliation from Pakistan on Israel and resupply flights from the U.S. and China alike for Israel and Iran respectively. There have also been some reports of large scale Naval fleet movements by the U.S. and nuclear command communications within the U.S. military. Things seem to be spinning out of control right now over there, though I have seen two reports that Iran is interested in a cessation of attacks against and by Israel. It is just so hard to keep up with everything that has been going on just in the last week.
There is one thing that I came across this morning that caught my eye. The Peace Research Institute Oslo, an organization that I have never heard of before, has released a report on the number of conflicts in the world in 2024. It found that there were 61 conflicts in 2024 across 36 countries, which they claim is the highest number since 1946, which was the first full year after the end of the Second World War. Some of the noted potential causes include weak governance, cross-border influences and community level tensions. I have already noted all of these as the impetus behind a significant amount of the disruptions around the world right now. I will point out that weak leadership will always result in degradation, whether that be in the home, in the workplace or in a country. As I said, I am not a fan of Trump, but it appears that he may be the only strong leader that the western world has right now. All of Europe is run by weak-kneed women and feminists, and Canada is in no better shape. Trump may be the only thing that is keeping the western civilized world from collapsing onto itself right now. We need to place more strong leaders over western countries before Trump is gone, or we may end up watching the collapse of society right in front of our eyes.
More importantly, we need to turn back to God, as individuals and as nations. When God is the head of a nation, that nation will stand and prosper. When God is rejected, that nation will suffer and will eventually crumble. This starts with the people. When the people turn to God, God will provide good and godly leadership for the people. We see this repeatedly with the kingdoms of Israel and Judah in the Old Testament. We need to turn back to God. Now. I believe that we are beginning to see the judgments of God on a world that is full of nations that have rejected Him.
