GCD Short - Climate Hysteria is a Control Mechanism

 

It seems like the entire first world is preoccupied with reducing the 'carbon footprint' of the people who live in it; or at least the leaders who live extravagantly and who jet-set around the world in pursuit of this are preoccupied with reducing the footprint of the people who can least afford it. The truth is that the preoccupation with the earth is a form of religious worship, though few would agree with that statement, but please, hear me out.

As Christians, is it not our belief that God is in charge of everything that happens? Is it not our belief that God designed this wonderful world for us to live in and enjoy, and that He designed it for all eras and for all people? I think that it is pompous to think that mankind can have any effect on the climate of this planet simply through the consumption of meat, for example. This is one of the more egregious things that the elites of this world wants to limit for us plebeians. The entire movement to curb our "production of carbon" in order to "stop climate change" is a farce; it is a control mechanism that is meant to subject the people to substandard living conditions and forced containment. The truth of the matter is that the world is actually in a historic carbon deficit right now. The people who are alive right now have only a small glimpse of personal history with the climate of earth, yet it is through this window that people are forced to gaze when the leaders of this world are telling us that our actions are affecting the climate.

Consider this; the earth and everything that does actually effect our climate consists of the ground itself, the water and the air. While earth is considered to be a small planet, humans actually cover only a very small portion of the surface of it, never mind the fact that it is actually a largely solid ball of rock, which is at different temperatures at different depths including liquefied rock in the centre and that comes to the surface wherever we see volcanoes. This chunk of rock is the largest thermal mass on the planet and human activity will have absolutely no affect on it. By way of explanation, a thermal mass is some object that retains heat or cold, releasing it slowly, thereby regulating the temperatures around it. The earth itself is the largest regulating factor in the climate of earth; only the sun can have any significant impact on it, and we have absolutely zero control over what the sun does.

The next most significant thermal mass on the earth is the water. Water readily accepts added thermal energy, but it also readily releases it back to the atmosphere; it releases it more slowly than it accepts it, this is why a lake takes a long time to warm up after an extended time of cold but it can stay warm after the air has started to cool off. There is a significant amount of water contained in the rock of the earth and this water is the same temperature as the surrounding rock. This is one way that the warmth of the centre of the earth makes it's way to the surface. Approximately 71% of the surface of the earth is covered by water, but water only makes up about 0.1% of the total mass of the earth. Keep in mind that the water over the entirety of the sea floor is in complete contact with the crust of the earth, while only the very top flat surface of the water is in contact with the air. This is to say that there is much more surface area of earth's crust in contact with the world's water than there is air that is in contact with the world's water. Which do you think will have a greater effect on the temperature of the water, the ground of the sea floor or the air above the water?

To put things a different way, to think that mankind and absolutely anything that we are doing will have any affect at all on the temperatures of the lakes and oceans is akin to me peeing in an Olympic sized swimming pool and expecting that the temperature of the pool will somehow be raised by my actions. The thought of that is ludicrous. Human activity will not raise the temperature of the oceans and will not melt the polar ice caps, it is that simple.

Then there is the air. This is the most pliable of the elements that can affect our climate, but it also has, somewhat ironically, the least effect on the overall temperature patterns of the earth. We feel the temperature differences in the air more acutely than anywhere else, but because it is regulated largely by the water, the earth and even the sun, the overall effect is negligible. People are getting worked up over the feel of what is the most pliable element on the planet and we are having a knee-jerk reaction to something that we have little control over.

Whenever someone starts talking to me about global warming or climate change, I like to point out that around the end of the first millennium A.D., the world was notably warmer. There is historic evidence of extensive grape orchards in England dating as far back the first century AD, having been planted there by Roman conquerors. While there are currently grape orchards, they are not numerous or highly productive. And while there is still some grain being grown in Iceland, there is, again, historic evidence that there used to be significant grain harvests in that country around the same time. As the earth warms, more food is able to be grown and the population booms. A warmer planet is not a threat to humanity, but a boon.

The truth is that we are actually living through a global cold spell. The earth is naturally moving towards coming out of that cold spell. So why are the elites always warning us about global warming? Because it is easier to control the people when we are working for survival rather than living at ease surrounded by bounty. While we are told that a two degree increase in temperature will be devastating for the planet, we can actually easily handle five degrees warmer than we are, and we will thrive under those conditions, as humanity has in the past, going all the way back to the Garden of Eden.

This climate hysteria is simply a control mechanism, and the sooner we abandon it, the better off humanity will be.
