Words of Knowledge - 01.26.25 - Restricted Travel/Sorting and Moving of People

Image
I am not a prophet nor someone who often receives visions, but there have been times when I have had a dream that struck me differently, or I have received words that I believe have come to me from God for a purpose. Many times I will just keep these things to myself or I might just share them with my family, but sometimes I feel compelled to share them with somebody, usually a friend or an acquaintance. Early in the morning of January 26 of this year, I had two dreams, the contents of which I did not record, most likely because the dreams themselves slipped my mind immediately upon waking up, but I did record the words that came to me as I woke from these dreams, and I feel that I am supposed to share them here. I refer to these words as 'words of knowledge', and if I share them here, I will preface the title with those words.   The first of these words is as follows: "Travel papers will be needed". This word was followed by a musical memory of the title line of a ...

The Model of a Biblical Household and Marriage- The Role of a Christian Woman

Image
In my last article, I strove to lay out the roles and responsibilities of a Christian man in a marriage relationship. I hope that I was able to make it very clear that while God has given man the authority position in a Christian household, this position comes with a heavy burden of responsibility to his wife, his kids and his household in general, as well as a responsibility to society as a whole. The man is to love and respect his wife and kids in his leadership and is to set an example as to how a Christian is to act. The authority given to the man is not permission to lord his authority over his family or demean or abuse those under him, it is quite the opposite. The man is told to model his love and leadership on what we read of Jesus' love and leadership, and if he does so, he is more likely to have a peaceful and enjoyable household. Now I want to deal with the role of women in a Christian household. There can only be one leader, and according to the Bible, that is not the...

The Model of a Biblical Household and Marriage - The Role of a Christian Man

Image
In my previous article, I presented ways in which believers are to act towards each other in general and I pointed out that these apply to a marriage relationship as well, especially as Christian men and women should be seeking Christians with whom to build a marriage and a family. I also wrote about some foundational teachings about marriage specifically that apply to both sexes. In the next couple of articles I want to delve into the roles and responsibilities of men and women specifically, and I want to start with the men. The reason I feel like I need to start with the men is largely due to the fact that, Biblically, men have the overarching authority in the marriage relationship, so I will start with the responsibilities of the head first. This is important because if there is not a basis of understanding of the role of the man, then it is much easier for there to be a misunderstanding regarding the role of the woman. It is important, maybe even vital, for both sexes to fulf...

The Model of a Biblical Household and Marriage - Foundational Principles

Image
Historically, the majority of men and women in the world have been marrying and building families, regardless of their faith background. It was God who instituted the relationship between a man and woman in the garden of Eden, but virtually all cultures have practised some form of relational bond between men and women, and that bond typically results in the creation of children and a household. But since God is the one who instituted marriage, I think it is best to look to Him for guidance about what that relationship and the resulting household should look like. If we start by looking in Genesis two at the introduction of Adam to Eve, man to woman, we see that while God created man out of the dust of the earth and breathed life into Him, thereby imbuing man with spirit (I plan to write about that at another time), He did not do the same when He created Eve. Instead, He put Adam to sleep and removed one of Adam's ribs, around which He fashioned Eve. This caused Adam to pro...

The Word

Image
" In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."    It is accepted as a fact of faith that God created the world and everything in it. We read about this in the beginning of the Bible, but it is when we get to the end of the Bible that we find out, through the praises of the 24 elders in Heaven, that God did it for His own pleasure; " Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created" Rev. 4:11 (KJV). There are some translations that state that God created "by His will" rather than for His pleasure. These seem rather contrary, but when we look at the original language we see that the original word 'theléma', G2307, means both the will and also pleasure. While it makes absolute sense that God created the world by His own will (after all, who could overlay their own will over God's), I like the thought that God spent six days in creation o...

Watch What Trump Is Doing

Image
A little while ago, I wrote an article about Donald Trump's inauguration into the office of the 47th President of the United States. I laid out a little bit about how he was, unfortunately, the better of two candidates, but that we don't know what he will do while he is in office, and the fact that he is so widely supported by conservatives and "christians". I have recently seen some things that cause me to wonder what Trump's role will be in the timeline of humanity. Looking back at Trump's first term as President, we saw that he knew how to make the economy grow and work for the people. His policies made the people of America more wealthy than they had been for a while, as a generalization. He was hobbled throughout his first term by Democrat dealings against him, impeachment actions against him and all of the legacy media was focused on smearing his name. There were even several legal actions taken against him. Trump was probably the most harassed pres...

Past Due - The Role of Confession in the Christian Walk

Image
Some years ago as I was reading in my personal devotions, I was reading in Romans 3 and verse 25 really jumped out at me, but just a few words in particular. At that time, I was reading the King James Bible almost exclusively, so I will use that version here as well, since it is from that translation that this article will make the most sense. Romans 3:25, in the King James Bible, reads, "Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;". The "whom" at the beginning of this verse is talking of Jesus Christ, through whom the propitiation, or appeasement to God is brought. This verse is telling us that God withheld His punishment of our sins at the times that we committed them so that we would have the opportunity to come to the saving knowledge of Jesus’ sacrifice. If God had smote us in the moment of our sin, then there would be no chan...
